In certain circumstances we might be able to help you with installing a telephone or paying for your television licence. If you think you need this support please contact us and tell us about your needs: tel: 08449 80 80 80 email: enquiries@nottscc.gov.uk
In certain situations, we may pay for a telephone to be installed in your home. This would be if:
-
you are in danger of a medical emergency
-
you have a disability
-
you live alone (or spend most of the day alone)
-
you are unable to leave the house unaided.
In certain situations we may contribute towards your television licence. To get help you must meet all four of the following conditions:
-
Be under 75 years old
-
Have a permanent and substantial disability, and be in receipt of the higher rate of the Disability Living Allowance (care) or the higher rate of Attendance Allowance
-
Be housebound and alone for the greater part of the day and night, except for visits from paid carers
-
Be in receipt of a means tested benefit, for example Income Support, Pension Credit, Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit.
Please note – we cannot contribute to the cost of any television equipment or repairs.
