Christmas at Sherwood

With the festive season fast approaching, there are lots of interesting events taking place at Sherwood, which capture the magic of Christmas.

Yuletide treasure trail

Saturday 26 November to Monday 2 January - every weekend except Christmas weekend, 11am-3pm

Enjoy some of the forest’s midwinter magic on this self-guided weekend trail around the Major Oak path, with a 'sweet' reward for all those who complete the clues!

£1 per leaflet.

Santa Claus

Festive walks

Winter is a magical time to wander through Sherwood Forest - part of Nottinghamshire's only National Nature Reserve - when the fantastic shapes of its gnarled and ancient oaks can be seen in all their glory.

Christmas Eve walk - 11.00am-12.30pm

Escape the hustle and bustle of high street shopping and the last minute Christmas rush, and enjoy a gentle stroll with a ranger through the ancient glades of Sherwood, looking for winter wildlife and discovering more about this legendary forest.

Adults £3, children £1.50

Boxing Day revival walk - 11.30am-1.00pm 

If your head's a bit fuzzy or you think you may have overdone the excesses of the festive period, this is your chance to breathe in some fresh air and get your legs working again!
