Rights of way

If you want to explore Nottinghamshire's countryside, you need to know where you're allowed to walk, cycle, and ride a horse.

A right of way is a public path. Anyone may 'pass or re-pass' along a right of way, at any time.

Rights of way provide routes into the countryside and around towns and can be wide tracks or narrow trails.

They are signposted from the highway and are often waymarked to show the route and make the paths easy to follow.

Nottinghamshire's countryside has a lot to offer, and there are more than 1600 miles of rights of way open to you.
