The County Council is committed to supporting new arts projects across the county. One of the ways we can do this is through our grant scheme, the Nottinghamshire Arts Fund.
The fund is for anyone helping to get more people to lead or participate in the arts in Nottinghamshire. We welcome applications from individual artists, members of the community, arts organisations together with community and voluntary groups.
In brief, your project should:
-
Require funding between £500 and £2500
-
Have a minimum of 10% funding from other sources
-
Have clear beginning and end dates
-
Take place within the administrative boundaries of Nottinghamshire (this excludes the City of Nottingham)
-
Involve a professional artist
-
Benefit the citizens of Nottinghamshire
The term ‘arts project’ is flexible. It may be a single event, a series of workshops, a programme of music or an artist residency – its up to you.
There will be two rounds of funding in 2012-13.
-
The first round of funding will open on Monday 2nd April and will close for applications on Friday 29 June 2012.
-
The second round will open Monday 3rd September and close Wednesday 31st October .
Both rounds will have an equal amount of money to allocate. You should submit your application well ahead of any activity you want to undertake, as final decisions on our funding are taken by a committee of councillors periodically . For instance, you should apply in the April to June round if you want to start your project at the earliest in the Autumn/ Winter of 2012. Likewise if you apply in the second round you shuold not expect to start your project until the Spring of 2013.
Before deciding whether to apply it is a good idea to talk to an officer of the Arts Service. They may be able to help you make the most of your ideas and link you to other partners.
The application is an online process. Please view the Guidance Notes for further details of the Fund.
