If you have received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), also known as a parking fine:

How much does a parking fine cost?

There are two different types of Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), also known as a parking fine, that an Enforcement Officer can issue dependant on the parking contravention committed. For certain offences, such as overstaying in a limited waiting area, the notice amount is £50 although this is reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days. For more serious offences, such as parking on double yellow lines, the amount is £70 although this is reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days. The contraventions that result in higher or lower charges are listed in the Operational Guidance.

Failure to pay within 28 days will lead to the Parking Partnership getting the details of the vehicle's registered owner and issuing a 'Notice to Owner' demanding full payment. Further delays will lead to debt registration, a further increase in the PCN amount and ultimately to bailiff enforcement. Read more information about the use of bailiffs [PDF 43KB]
